I recently attended a conference where Adam Markel was a keynote speaker. Adam wrote the books, "Pivot" and "Change Proof". In his talk, he spoke of resilience and the importance of developing your ability for resilience *before* you need it.
One of Adam's biggest points was part of being resilient for the future is exercising self-care now. A cool idea I had not heard before was "habit stacking", meaning, practicing two or more healthy practices at the same time... you get compounded benefit when you do!
I've started listening to Adam's podcast episodes, where he speaks in greater detail with his podcast guests about their experiences and ideas about resilience. There are so many concrete actions we can all take to improve our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual selves. I've got some work to do!
